Gothic Festival Part 2

Skeletal Family, Covenant, and more backstage antics

By now the Jagermeister was well and truly flowing, I said bye for now to the guys from All Gone Dead and Katsenjammer Kabbaret and wandered back into the main venues to see more of the bands performing and explore the Gothic Market.

You go all the way to Belgium only to bump
into other folk from the Northern Scene and
end up talking about the Wendyhouse, Black
Sheep, and Leeds Scene politics.
Bloody Goths! :-)

Now that's what I call a mixing desk!

These guys had some truly beautiful figures
for sale, and the prices were extremly good.

The beautiful young lady in the next two shots is the
violinist from Kirlian Camera.

Covenant Live on the Main Stage

The two headline acts for the whole festival were Covenant and Front 242. I was really looking forward to seeing Covenant, and wasn't disapointed, they played a brilliant set and really carried the already happy crowd with them. In particular, I'll remember the live version of "We Stand Alone" for a very long time to come!

On Through The Night!

After Covenant, everything got very silly indeed. The second bottle of the "Bitter Filth" was cracked open, the very good free beer provided by the organisers was flowing like water, and at some point shortly before Front 242 took to the stage, reality was entirely left behind. It was a good night!

Every festival must include a picture of
a toilet. So here it is. :-)

"Raise your glass into the night..."
No, that's definetly not Stella!

In Belgium, they take their beer seriously.
When you order a half, it comes from
special half-sized barrels.

Um, was this ending in the script?
