It'd been five years, several thousand miles, and gigs all across
the world from Whitby to Australia, but in 2008 Inkubus Sukkubus
finally played once again at what is arguably one of London's most
famous alternative venues. And yes, the magic was there. The band
who've never played a bad gig played an absolutely storming one this
night!
As the smoke filled the stage, the band were off with the usual blistering opening with the crowd roaring their approval.
The band were on absolutely top form for this gig, in what seemed like
no time at all we were five tracks into the set
with the power levels
ratcheting up with every track!
Part way through, I managed to squeeze round to the back of the main
audience area, and get a few front views of the
stage, though with the
packed crowd, there was no way I was getting to the front this time!
Having absolutely blasted through the main set, the band dissapeared backstage for a brief and well deserved pause, but sure enough, the crowd yelled for, and got, an encore, three more tracks.
And so, at last, it ended. Five years on, and the band can still rock Camden like no-one else. That was a good gig.
