Speeding through the mysterious German forests

Into the City

Leipzig is a fascinating place, a strange mix of architectural splendour and abandoned ruins, a thriving modern city punctuated by relics of forgotten eras.

The Lion seems to be a symbol of Leipzig

dscf5267.jpg

There were many interesting abandoned buildings
in Leipzig, even some in the heart of the city.

dscf5268.jpg

Was that really a London Routemaster bus?

Our hotel, the Lindner

European event organisers certainly know how to put bands up in style, this place was beautiful, relaxing and smart.

Exploring Northwest Lepizig

dscf5288.jpg

Next door to the hotel,
a haunting ruin!

dscf5290.jpg

While over the road, a very smart house!

dscf5299.jpg

We walked for a mile to so through the woods

dscf5306.jpg

And came to a wonderful pub.

dscf5310.jpg

Beer!

They know how to make this
stuff properly in Germany.

dscf5311.jpg

And then a very smartly uniformed young man
brought us some of the finest food I've ever
tasted in my life. German cooking rocks!

dscf5314.jpg

Adam and I found an "interesting" route back.

dscf5331.jpg

Once regrouped, we headed back into the woods.

dscf5336.jpg

Mystery under the trees

dscf5338.jpg

Into the deeper forest

dscf5343.jpg

What will we stumble upon next?

dscf5344.jpg

A hidden village, with a pub!

dscf5345.jpg

But what to have?
As if there was any doubt, given the display board! :)

dscf5347.jpg

And in your hand, the promised land
the universe at your command!

And now, a sword fight! En-garde!

But who will be declared the winner?

dscf5381.jpg

Shhh! What is that sound echoing through the woods?

Echoes of a previous age

As we emerged from the woods we came upon this place, seemingly abandoned yet undisturbed. Was it a relic of the time when Germany was divided into East and West, or something more mundane?

Back to the hotel, into the evening!

dscf5400.jpg

Kuppelhalle.
Scene of the most lavish and spectaculer fetish event
imaginable. Hundreds of people, in every variety of kinky
atire. The entire alternative underground scene in full
flow and on display. It was quite a night!

dscf5403.jpg

Of course, as with all well run Fetish events, cameras
are not allowed inside, but suffice it to say the event
was beautiful, wild, spectacular, and a real privilige to
attend.

The Haupbahnhof, or main railway station.
