The WGT has many venues across the city, Inkubus Sukkubus were due to play at the Parkbühne, an open-air festival venue built on an old ampitheatre. The venue faces west, so gets the full benefit of direct sunlight, which is great for the crowd and the photographers, but can be punishing for bands.
Inkubus Sukkubus arrived about 2pm, just as Lahannya were starting their set on-stage.
Backstage at the Parkbühne, very nice, there's even a carpet!
This was the backstage catering tent. Someone
went to a lot of trouble, and the food was superb too!
Last time I saw these guys was in The Subculture in Leeds, a couple of years ago, they put on a powerful show then, and delivered an absolutely storming set here in Leipzig, despite the punishing heat and blazing sun.
People took maximum advantage of the pauses between bands to relax and recover between each performance. The crowd were enthusiastic for all the acts, the numbers steadily growing through the afternoon.
Highly reccomended by friends of the Inkies, Die So Fluid from London followed Lahannya, and got an equally enthusiastic response from the growing crowd.

During Die So Fluid's performance I got a chance to grab a perfect shot of a fellow photographer as she wandered through the crowd, capturing the fans' reactions. If you ever see this, Hi!
I took this shot of a poster backstage
mainly so I'd remember how to spell
Parkbühne when I got home, but it's
a nice shot so I've left it in anyway!
With the crowd having grown even more, it was time for the band immedieatley preceding Inkubus Sukkubus, and the highest placed German band on today's bill, Eternal Afflict, to come on. They played a pile-driving set of pounding German Industrial EBM, and the crowd loved them. To me they came across as a Germanic version of Yorkshire's own Cybercide.
It was also aparent during their set that trying to get back to the cental location that had allowed me so many good shots of Lahannya and Die So Fluid was going to be problematical during the Inkies' set, as the crowd was still growing and spaces to squeeze past people rapidly dissapearing!
