Into the Moritzbastei

That evening, having said goodbye to the Parkbühne, we all made our way to another of the WGT venues, the truly spectacular underground labyrinth that is the Moritzbastei. Once, it used to be a fortress. Nothing now remains above ground level, but underground the cellars, dungeons, store-rooms and passageways survive, and have been turned into a truly decadent venue for music, alcohol, and pleasure.

Having obtained drinks at one of several bars, the first chamber we entered featured a DJ playing an EBM soundtrack.

After dancing to a few tracks, we went exploring, through passages and up subterranean stairways we made our way to another huge chamber, where we found a table in one of many deep caverns, and settled in to enjoy the night.

Friends found us there, and soon there was quite a party gathered at the table. Meanwhile, I went exporing once more, the images below attempt to show this truly incredible venue.
