They opened the show with 'Vampire Erotica', and thence into 'Belladonna And Aconite', and the large crowd went absolutely wild for them!
Tony and Adam played like demons, and Candia not only sang as only she can, but also constantly engaged with the audience, making eye contact, drawing people into the magic of the music. The setlist had been arranged so the tempo steadily increased from track to track, and you could feel the power levels rising as the set progressed.
The band played the full live set and were then called back for two encores, the crowd wanted more but Candia was mindful of finishing on time for the benefit of the very helpful and friendly organisers. The set ended with the awe-inspiring 'Witch Queen', followed by the magical 'Song To Pan'.
The stage manager, and the bottle
of Jaegermeister he managed to procure
for the band. We'd been rather surprised
to discover that everything in Holland
shuts down at 5pm and there were no late
night shops, so huge thanks for finding that!
Once the stage was cleared and the instruments safely stowed in the dressing room, it was time for the band to head outside and meet people, they spent a good 45 minutes chatting to fans, being photographed with various people, and giving a very interesting interview to a couple of women from a local Gothic magazine, foussing heavily on their pagan beliefs.
Adam wonders just who is this manic priest and his
two henchwoman who appear to have joined the band?
Candia and the lighting engineer, who's brilliant and
atmospheric lighting really made the photographs above.
